The American Lawyer Ranks Robins Kaplan Among Top 20 Firms in Nation For Pro Bono Work In 2022

July 25, 2022

Robins Kaplan LLP is pleased to announce that it has been ranked among the top 20 firms in the nation for pro bono work by The American Lawyer. The firm ranked 17th in the magazine’s annual pro bono survey, which highlights the AmLaw 200 firms with the deepest commitment to pro bono work.

For the past 15 years, Robins Kaplan has consistently ranked near the top of the AmLaw 200 for pro bono work. In 2021, the firm provided over 19,000 hours of pro bono services to clients who could not afford legal representation, nonprofit organizations, and clients in civil rights and public interest cases.

“I am proud of the firm’s continued commitment to providing access to justice for those who could not otherwise afford it,” said Logan Drew, Chair of the firm’s Pro Bono Committee. “Our attorneys are asked to provide 50 hours of pro bono services each year, and since 2008, 5% of our total attorney billable time has been contributed to clients who could not afford legal representation.”

Over the past year, the firm has handled a wide range of pro bono matters, including partnering with OutFront Minnesota and OutLaw to offer a transgender name change clinic for clients navigating the legal name change process. The firm also achieved favorable outcomes on behalf of low-income tenants during the eviction crisis, victim-survivors of sexual violence, and asylum applicants fleeing persecution in their home countries.
