Robins Kaplan LLP Continues National Expansion with Addition of Mountain View, California Office
Office Will Support Growing Client Base in the Silicon Valley Region
April 13, 2015
MOUNTAINVIEW, CA—April 13, 2015—National law firm Robins Kaplan LLP has expanded its national presence, opening an office in Mountain View, California. The office will focus on technology-centric consultation and litigation involving intellectual property, global business process sourcing, cybersecurity, and privacy, and will allow the firm to further support its clients’ needs in the Silicon Valley region.
“We are thrilled to plant our flag here in Mountain View,” noted Andrea Gothing, Partner in the firm’s Mountain View office. “The ever changing technology and patent issues facing Silicon Valley businesses are right in the sweet spot of our firm’s expertise, and we are excited to continue our extensive work on these matters in California and beyond.”
Gothing focuses her practice on business litigation, intellectual property, and trade secrets. She is registered to practice in the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office and has significant prior experience as an electrical engineer. Gothing is joined in Mountain View by Li Zhu, an associate who focuses his practice on complex patent and commercial litigation.
Robins Kaplan’s Mountain View office builds upon the firm’s already established presence in California. The firm’s Los Angeles office will celebrate its 20th anniversary this year and is staffed with 29 attorneys covering a variety of practice areas, including business litigation, entertainment and media litigation, and financial markets litigation, among several others.
“Given the firm’s client base and our existing work on the West Coast, the Mountain View office will support our regional presence, while continuing to expand the firm’s national footprint,” said Martin Lueck, Chairman of Robins Kaplan’s Executive Board.
The Mountain View office marks the third new office Robins Kaplan has opened in the past month. In March, Brendan Johnson, former U.S. Attorney for the District of South Dakota, and Timothy Purdon, former U.S. Attorney for the District of North Dakota, joined the firm to open and head the firm’s new offices in Sioux Falls, S.D., and Bismarck, N.D. Their work will expand the firm’s national internal investigations and white-collar crime capabilities, as well as its work on behalf of tribal communities.
