Three Partners Named to Lawdragon 500 Leading Lawyers in America List

Robins Kaplan LLP is pleased to announce that partners Ronald Schutz, Patrick Arenz, and Tara Sutton have been named to the 2024 Lawdragon “500 Leading Lawyers in America” guide, recognizing the nation’s top attorneys.
Ronald Schutz serves as chair of the firm's Executive Board and holds the distinguished title of Fellow at the American College of Trial Lawyers, the preeminent organization of trial lawyers in North America. Fellowship in this prestigious organization is extended through invitation only, with membership limited to just 1% of the total lawyer population. Schutz has achieved a nine-figure and multiple eight-figure jury verdicts and has secured trial victories against industry giants such as Apple, General Electric, Clear Channel, Sony, and Canon. Based on his accomplishments, Schutz has earned a place on many top lawyer lists, including Lawdragon’sinaugural “500 Leading Litigators in America” list and IAM Patent 1000: The World’s Leading Patent Professionals.
Patrick Arenz specializes in handling high-stakes disputes for a diverse clientele, which includes small inventor-led companies, individuals, and Fortune 100 companies. His practice is centered around plaintiff’s-side cases involving patent and copyright infringement, rights of publicity, trade secret misappropriation, breach of contract, defamation, and business and individual tort matters. Arenz has won cases that attracted significant media attention from reputable outlets such as The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Star Tribune, The Hollywood Reporter, Bloomberg Law, and even “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.” He is a four-time Minnesota Attorney of the Year award winner and is named a Trailblazer by The American Lawyer.
Tara Sutton is chair of the firm’s Mass Tort Group and a member of the Executive Board. She recently played a key role as lead trial counsel representing the State of Minnesota in its lawsuit against JUUL Labs, which settled for $60.5 million after three weeks of trial. She also serves as a lead negotiator advocating for hundreds of Tribal governments in the multi-district litigation related to opioids. To date, opioid-related settlements on behalf of tribes have surpassed $1 billion. Sutton’s achievements have garnered recognition from various organizations. She has been listed in the past nine editions of The Best Lawyers in America and repeatedly named a “Lawyer of the Year” by Best Lawyers. This is the ninth consecutive year she has been included on Lawdragon’s “500 Leading Lawyers in America” list.
