Serving as lead trial counsel for patent holder ACQIS LLC, Robins Kaplan reached confidential settlements with Samsung, Acer, and Microsoft in related disputes involving ACQIS’s patents covering high-speed serial interfaces integral to communication between integrated circuits used in smartphones, tablets, laptops, and gaming consoles. 

Robins Kaplan reached a confidential settlement with Samsung following a successful mediation in December of 2021, and the case was dismissed on January 4, 2022. At the time of the settlement with Samsung, Robins Kaplan had obtained non-institution by the PTAB of all ten IPR petitions filed by Samsung, the parties were awaiting summary judgment rulings, and the case was set for trial in Marshall, Texas in February of 2022.

Robins Kaplan reached a confidential settlement with Acer in August of 2022, and the case was dismissed on September 23, 2022. At the time of the settlement, the parties had completed expert discovery and were engaged in summary judgment briefing.

Robins Kaplan reached a confidential settlement with Microsoft in June of 2023 following a successful mediation. At the time of the settlement, the parties were engaged in claim construction briefing.
