Tara Sutton Named a Litigation Trailblazer by The National Law Journal
November 1, 2023
Robins Kaplan is pleased to announce that Tara Sutton has been recognized as a 2023 Litigation Trailblazer by The National Law Journal. This is the second time Sutton has been recognized on this prestigious list, which honors attorneys who have moved the needle with innovative legal strategies and out-of-the-box thinking that is changing the practice of law.
Sutton is chair of the firm’s Mass Tort Group and a member of the Executive Board. She has repeatedly achieved victories that create a path to recovery for thousands injured by drugs, from her role in the firm’s historic win against Big Tobacco over 20 years ago to the $61.5 million settlement on behalf of the State of Minnesota after trial against JUUL and Altria this year. She also currently serves as a lead negotiator on behalf of hundreds of Tribal governments in the Opioid multi-district litigation. To date, opioid-related settlements on behalf of tribes have surpassed $1 billion.
Sutton has been honored for her professional accomplishments by numerous publications. In 2023, she was recognized as a "Leading Practitioner in Products Liability" by Chambers USA and named to the "Top 50 Women Super Lawyers" by Minnesota Super Lawyers. She has also been listed in every edition of The Best Lawyers in America and Lawdragon’s "500 Leading Lawyers in America" since 2016.
