Overview
Thad Titze relies on his personal values of excellence and service to drive results for clients. His experience as a law clerk for a federal district court judge exposed him to every stage of litigation in a wide variety of civil and criminal matters. His observation of and involvement in federal trials as a clerk informs his strategic approach to each case. At Robins Kaplan, Thad’s practice areas include Business Litigation, American Indian Law and Policy, Wealth Planning, Administration, and Disputes, Personal Injury, and Medical Malpractice.
Thad graduated cum laude from the University of South Dakota Knudson School of Law where he served as the Editor-in-Chief of the South Dakota Law Review. He published three articles during his tenure as a student and served as a student representative on several university boards. Thad was a member of the school’s trial team and gained valuable experience competing against nationally-ranked advocacy programs.
Prior to law school, Thad worked as his alma mater, Augustana University, as an enrollment administrator. He also spent a formative year volunteering in rural Hungary where he worked on issues affecting early childhood development, community-based agriculture, and Roma/non-Roma relations.
Outside of work, you can find Thad cooking, planning his next trip, and spending time outdoors with his wife, Maddie, and their rescue beagle, Pepper. Thad is an active member of the State Bar of South Dakota, the Second Circuit Bar Association, and the South Dakota Trial Lawyers Association. He serves as a board member for Move to Heal South Dakota, a healing arts organization for youth.
