
Overview
Daniel Allender is a nationally recognized trial attorney who navigates high-stakes disputes across industries, with an emphasis on retail, private equity, and technology. He excels at finding creative solutions to complex problems, and handles all aspects of business litigation, including partnership disputes, real estate litigation, and intellectual property matters.
Daniel regularly serves as national coordinating counsel and outside general counsel for his clients. During the pandemic, he served as coordinating counsel for several public retailers, resolving hundreds of commercial lease disputes impacted by shutdown orders. In a case against Disney, he secured a judicial finding of copyright misuse for a client accused of copyright infringement. Daniel has recovered millions in complex partnership disputes and other commercial matters.
From 2020 to 2023, Daniel served on the Commission on Judicial Nominees Evaluation (JNE) for the State Bar of California, which provides an independent and comprehensive evaluation of candidates prior to a judicial appointment.
Daniel also serves on advisory boards for Public Counsel and Equality California.

Secured summary judgment and award of fees and costs enforcing right to exercise option under commercial lease.
Recovered millions in overcharges for a national retailer against a major mall developer.
Prosecuted trade secrets claim on behalf of major food distributor against former partner who launched competing business based on stolen client and distributor lists.
Successfully defended commercial real estate owner against a claim of breach of option agreement in failed transaction valued over $40 million.
