Gabriel Ulman

Gabriel brings effective and innovative solutions to help guide his clients through myriad legal issues, from complex national litigation to high-profile white-collar investigations. A perceptive and dedicated advocate, Mr. Ulman has represented clients through every stage of litigation, from pre-suit analysis to jury trial and appeal. He has assisted clients across the country in a variety of healthcare lawsuits and class actions, False Claims Act and Anti-Kickback Statute matters, highly-public media and entertainment disputes, and sensitive government investigations.

Prior to joining Robins Kaplan, Mr. Ulman worked at Hogan Lovells US LLP and as an assistant attorney general for the State of Minnesota. Before becoming a lawyer, Mr. Ulman worked for healthcare technology companies, with a focus on regulatory compliance and project management. In addition to his healthcare advocacy, Mr. Ulman has successfully represented clients in a wide range of matters, including film and television contractual disputes, consumer fraud class actions, complex internal investigations at educational institutions, intellectual property disputes, and products liability matters. Mr. Ulman has also represented clients in a wide range of jurisdictions, including the Central, Eastern, and Northern Districts of California, the District of Minnesota, the District of Massachusetts, and the Eighth and Ninth Circuit Courts of Appeals.

Representative Matters

Represented classes of elder, indigent, immigrant, and veteran Angelenos in a consumer fraud class action against Los Angeles County and two private administrators. Serving as the senior associate on these cases, Mr. Ulman managed the class action alongside legal aid partners at Bet Tzedek and Public Counsel from complaint through settlement, where the team was able to save tens of thousands of vulnerable class members’ homes from foreclosure. Reginald Nemore, et al, v. Renovate America, Inc. and the County of Los Angeles (Case No. BC701810) and Zenia Ocana et al, v. Renew Financial Holdings, Inc., Renew Financial Corp. Defended United Healthcare in a series of ERISA class actions concerning the efficacy of spinal disc prosthetic devices. Mr. Ulman was involved in aspects of the cases prior to their cumulative favorable settlement. Jenee Hill v. United Healthcare Insurance Company, No. 8:15-cv-00526 (C.D. Cal.) and Byron Hack v.
