Minnesota Lawyer has recognized Robins Kaplan LLP business professionals Robin Dusterhoft and Jimmy Selix as 2019 Unsung Legal Heroes. The award recognizes Minnesota’s most talented and dedicated legal support professionals who consistently go beyond the call of duty, often behind the scenes.
A paralegal in the Mass Torts Group, Robin has devoted the past five years to the firm’s work on multi-district litigation related to a pharmaceutical manufacturer, which seeks compensation for those who have suffered losses due to previously unreported side effects of a mental health drug. Her role in the case has been to speak to potential and current clients, to evaluate their claims, educate them on the progress of the case, and keep them appraised of its progress. Throughout her years of work on the case, Robin has been noted for her role as the first point of contact for many of the firm’s clients, and earned praise for the clear, compassionate, and well-organized communication she brings to that position.
Jimmy has worked in Robins Kaplan’s Computer Systems Support group for more than 14 years. In his current role, he manages system updates and secure remote connectivity for all of the firm’s systems, including more than 400 mobile devices. Jimmy also accompanies the firm’s trial teams to assist in setting up remote offices – a task that has taken him to more than 30 trials in cities across the nation in the past 10 years. These trials include some of the firm’s largest and most significant matters, including the $2.7 billion case Kraft v. Starbucks.
