Robins Kaplan LLP is pleased to announce that it has been ranked among the top 20 firms in the nation for pro bono work by The American Lawyer. The firm ranked 19th in the magazine’s annual pro bono survey, which highlights the Am Law 200 firms with the deepest commitment to pro bono work over the past year.

Robins Kaplan has consistently ranked near the top of the Am Law 200 for pro bono work. Since 2008, more than six percent of the firm’s total billable hours have been contributed to pro bono legal services. In 2018, firm lawyers spent an average of nearly 90 hours on pro bono projects, and more than 80 percent of firm lawyers devoted more than 20 hours to pro bono service.
Over the past year, the firm has handled a wide range of pro bono matters, including representing immigrants seeking asylum, representing the State of Illinois to achieve wide-ranging and lasting reforms in the Chicago Police Department, and securing a significant court ruling ensuring all transgender inmates incarcerated by the Missouri Department of Corrections receive medically necessary care.
