Teresa Fariss McClain has been named President of the Minnesota Women Lawyers (MWL) Foundation, effective July 1, 2017, and elected to a two-year term on the organization’s Board of Directors.
McClain practices in the areas of medical malpractice and personal injury law, and chairs the firm’s Gender Diversity Work Group. She is a 2001 cum laude graduate of William Mitchell College of Law and practiced as a registered nurse in the areas of obstetrics and adult critical care prior to attending law school. Having attained her law degree, she clerked for a year with the Honorable Donald P. Lay of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.
McClain served as President of MWL for the 2013-14 fiscal year, Co-Chaired the Foundation’s 501c3 Taskforce in 2012-13, the 501c3 Implementation Taskforce in 2013-24, and has served on the Foundation’s Board of Directors since its inception in 2014.
She was named Lawyer of the Year by Minnesota Lawyer in 2014 for her work in establishing MWL’s Foundation, and has been named a Super Lawyer in the area of Plaintiff’s Medical Malpractice since 2014.
