Robins Kaplan LLP is pleased to announce that partner Tara D. Sutton has been selected as a recipient of the 2015 “Women in Business Award” by the Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal. Each year, the “Women in Business Award” is presented to 50 local professionals in recognition of their career achievements, their leadership qualities, and their overall contributions to their local communities.

As a trial attorney, a member of Robins Kaplan’s executive board, and the chair of the firm’s Mass Tort Group, Ms. Sutton represents individuals harmed by the pharmaceutical and medical device industry. Over the course of her career, Ms. Sutton has recovered millions in compensation for victims across the country. Her achievements include bellwether cases concerning metal-on-metal hip replacements, the anti-smoking drug Chantix, and the Parkinson’s drug Mirapex.

In addition to her legal practice, Ms. Sutton is deeply involved with the Minneapolis community. She contributes her time to the Public Justice Foundation, the Minneapolis Children’s Theater, and Minneapolis Swims, a nonprofit organization dedicated to bringing swimming access to urban core neighborhoods in Minneapolis.

Ms. Sutton was also recently named a “Woman Worth Watching” by Profiles in Diversity Journal (2014), a “Female Powerbroker” by Law360 (2014) and a “Plaintiff Top 150 Women in Litigation” by Benchmark Litigation (2013).  The Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal will recognize Ms. Sutton and the other honorees during a luncheon on May 28.
