Robins Kaplan LLP is pleased to announce that partner Tara D. Sutton was selected as one of The National Law Journal’s “Outstanding Women Lawyers.” The National Law Journal made this recognition to 75 of the most accomplished female attorneys working in the legal profession today. In determining who should be named an “Outstanding Woman Lawyer,” The National Law Journal reviewed hundreds of nominations from across the country, including submissions from law firms, nonprofit organizations, corporations, and law schools.
As a trial attorney, member of Robins Kaplan’s executive board, and the chairwoman of the firm’s mass tort group, Ms. Sutton has taken a leadership position in a wide range of product liability cases. Her professional accomplishments include lead trial counsel in several bellwether trials, including the anti-smoking drug Chantix and the Parkinson’s drug Mirapex. In her most recent case, Ms. Sutton negotiated on behalf of plaintiffs the $1.4 billion global settlement of the Stryker Rejuvenate/ABG II modular hip litigation.
In addition to her work on behalf of her clients, Ms. Sutton also demonstrates a strong dedication to the local Minneapolis/St. Paul community. She currently serves on the Board of Governors of the Minneapolis Children’s Theatre. She also serves as Treasurer of the Public Justice Foundation, a national public-interest law firm that protects consumer rights through precedent-setting and socially significant litigation.
