MINNEAPOLIS, MN—June 7, 2017—Profiles in Diversity Journal has named Robins Kaplan LLP® partner Stacey Slaughter to its 2017 “Women Worth Watching” list. This award recognizes women pioneers who are forging ahead with global acclaim in strategies that are making a difference in their workplaces and communities.
Throughout her career, Slaughter has represented businesses, organizations, institutional investors, shareholders, and brokers facing significant commercial disputes, complex business problems, and novel legal issues. One of the most consequential cases she has been involved with in recent years is Dahl et al. v. Bain Capital Partners et. al, which alleged a multi-year conspiracy among the country’s largest private equity funds to drive down the prices for leveraged buyouts of publicly traded companies. Defendants in the case included many of the largest and most recognized private equity firms, including The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. and Bain Capital Partners. She was also part of a team that resolved claims with J.P. Morgan, Countrywide, and ratings agencies over residential mortgage-backed securities for a client that incurred significant losses after the 2008 financial collapse.
Slaughter was recently named one of Law360’s 25 Most Influential Women in Securities Law, and has taught New York State Bar Association courses on high-volume trading and dark pools. She also co-chairs the Hennepin County Bar Association’s Business & Securities Law Section and is the executive director of the International Financial Litigation Network, a leading global litigation network of more than 40 law firms in 20 countries.
Slaughter is the seventh Robins Kaplan attorney to make this list since 2011. She is featured in the July issue of Profiles in Diversity Journal.
