Robins Kaplan LLP is pleased to announce that Ronald Schutz and Thomas Hamlin have been selected to Minnesota Lawyer’s POWER 30: Business Litigation list, honoring the state’s top business litigation attorneys.

Minnesota Lawyer selected the POWER 30 based on interviews with Minnesota attorneys, a review of significant matters, and Minnesota Lawyer’s own coverage of top practitioners and impactful cases. According to Minnesota Lawyer, the POWER 30 profiles attorneys “whose mere presence on a case signifies the stakes, who have influenced the direction of the law, whose leadership in the community is pervasive and whose respect within the bar is undeniable.”

Ronald Schutz serves as Chair of the firm’s Executive Board. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, which is the preeminent organization of trial lawyers in North America. Becoming a Fellow is by invitation only and membership is limited to 1% of the total lawyer population. Based on his accomplishments, Schutz has been included in many top lawyer lists, including, Lawdragon 500 and IAM Patent 1000: The World’s Leading Patent Professionals. Schutz is heavily involved in community and public affairs, and serves on the Board of Directors for the Center of the American Experiment and Tee It Up for The Troops.

Thomas Hamlin has over 40 years of experience in high-stakes business litigation and intellectual property disputes. He has been involved in some of the firm’s largest verdicts and settlements, including the landmark Big Tobacco matter, which resulted in a $6.6 billion settlement after 15 weeks of trial. He is one of only two lawyers at Robins Kaplan to recover more than a billion dollars in two cases. Hamlin has been recognized for his achievements by multiple organizations, including recently being named to The Best Lawyers in America for 2023. Dedicated to serving his community, Hamlin was also recently recognized by the Chief Judge of the Minnesota Supreme Court for his "extraordinary service representing Minnesotans in need of legal help."
