Robins Kaplan is pleased to announce that Roman Silberfeld was inducted as President of the International Academy of Trial Lawyers (IATL) at the organization’s annual meeting held virtually on March 21. He will serve a one-year term.
The International Academy of Trial Lawyers is an organization of elite trial lawyers representing both sides of the bar: prosecutors and defense lawyers in criminal cases, and plaintiffs’ and defense counsel in civil litigation. The Academy is limited to 500 fellows nationally and is by invitation only, after a rigorous vetting process. The Academy’s purposes are to promote reforms in the law, facilitate the administration of justice, promote the rule of law internationally, and evaluate the standards of integrity, honor, and courtesy in the legal profession.
“This is the highlight of my legal career,” Silberfeld said. “I look forward to spending my term as President pursuing the IATL’s mission of promoting excellence and integrity in the legal profession.”
Silberfeld is the firm’s National Trial Chair and has more than 40 years of experience as a trial litigator in civil and criminal cases, including white-collar crime, environmental, personal injury, antitrust, and securities law. He has been lead counsel in a number of high-profile trials, representing both plaintiffs and defendants.
Silberfeld was inducted into the International Academy of Trial Lawyers in 2002, and has previously served on the organization’s Board of Directors, as Dean, Vice President, and Chair of the Admissions.
