Robins Kaplan LLP is pleased to announce that it ranked fourth out of 65 midsize firms in Law360’s 2024 Pro Bono Rankings. This recognition is based on the proportion of attorneys who provided at least 50 hours of free legal services, the participation rate in pro bono activity, and the average amount of pro bono hours per attorney.
In 2023, Robins Kaplan dedicated more than 19,500 hours to pro bono service, assisting individuals who could not afford legal representation, supporting nonprofit organizations, and advocating for clients in civil rights and public interest cases. The firm also provided volunteer attorneys to fully staff 41 pro bono legal clinics. These clinics offered legal advice and representation for transgender individuals seeking gender-affirming name changes, low-income mothers enrolled in the Jeremiah program, tenants facing eviction, and others in need.
“As a firm, we are committed to making a meaningful impact in our communities. Our pro bono work is not just a responsibility; it’s an integral part of our identity,” said Geoffrey Kozen, chair of the firm’s Pro Bono Committee. “We are honored to be recognized for our efforts and will continue to strive for justice and equality for those in need.”
The firm’s devotion to pro bono work has earned it other national accolades, including being repeatedly named one of the best law firms for pro bono by Vault and consistently ranked as a top pro bono firm by The American Lawyer.
