Robins Kaplan LLP is pleased to announce that it has been named Minnesota Law Firm of the Year by Benchmark Litigation in its 2024 U.S. Awards. These awards recognize the country’s most distinguished litigators and their firms for their exemplary work from the research period spanning April 2022 to April 2023.

Some of the firm’s most notable results during that period include:

  • Secured a $564 million jury verdict – which surpassed $1 billion with interest – in Kelley v. BMO Harris Bank, N.A, one of the largest Ponzi scheme cases in U.S. history. This is the largest jury verdict in Minnesota history.
  • Secured final approval of a $5.5 billion settlement on behalf of U.S. merchants in the In re Payment Card Interchange Fee and Merchant Discount Antitrust Litigation. This is the largest class-action settlement of a private antitrust action in the 130-year history of the Sherman Act.
  • Secured final approval of final three settlements in In re Automotive Parts Antitrust Litigation, which taken together with prior settlements obtained by Robins Kaplan, represents the largest indirect purchaser recovery in U.S. history.
  • Served as the Attorney General’s special counsel in the State of Minnesota’s lawsuit against JUUL and Altria for deceptively marketing e-cigarettes to youth. The case settled for $60.5 million after three weeks of trial
  • Obtained confidential settlements on behalf of patent holder Wapp Tech L.P. in a series of related patent infringement suits against two Fortune 500 banks in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.
