LOS ANGELES (September 21, 2012) – On September 22, Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi L.L.P. will be presented with the 2012 “Ambassador of Justice Award” during California Rural Legal Assistance, Inc.’s (CRLA) Annual Tardeada.

According to CRLA, the “Ambassador or Justice Award” honors a law firm or individual that has demonstrated a long-term commitment to the fight for justice and rights of California’s rural poor, and that shares and promotes CRLA’s vision of a rural California where all people are treated with dignity and respect and guaranteed their fundamental rights.

David Martinez, firm partner and member of the CRLA Board of Directors, explains, “It is the firm’s foundational belief that everyone should have equal access to the justice system, regardless of their personal or economic situations and CRLA makes that belief a reality.  We are humbled by being selected as the 2012 Ambassadors of Justice.”

Founded in 1966, CRLA’s mission is to fight for justice and individual rights alongside the most exploited communities of our society.  Through a network of regional offices in 20 California cities and communities, CRLA provides legal services to over 40,000 people annually through specialized programs focusing on the needs of farm workers, housing, environmental justice, education, individuals with disabilities, immigrant populations, LGBT rights, and women, children, and families.
