MINNEAPOLIS (August 2011) - Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi L.L.P.'s client IpVenture, Inc., a privately held company, has settled its patent infringement suit against Verizon Wireless. IpVenture filed the suit in October 2010 against Verizon Wireless, alleging the company's Family Locator product and service infringed U.S. Patent No. 7,366,522, which is owned by IpVenture. The original suit also named AT&T Mobility, Sprint Spectrum and Nextel Operations as defendants, alleging similar violations of the ‘522 patent.

The lawsuit against Verizon Wireless was resolved with the grant by IpVenture of a fully paid up license to Telecommunication Systems, Inc., the supplier of the Verizon Family Locator product.

"This is a good result for our client and we congratulate them," said Ronald J. Schutz, Chair of the Intellectual Property Litigation Group at Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi L.L.P. and lead counsel to IpVenture. "The resolution of this dispute was very amicable and we look forward to licensing additional companies."

IpVenture's suit against AT&T, Sprint and Nextel continues.

Mr. Schutz is available for interviews.
