Robins Kaplan is one of just five organizations to win a group award this year.

Robins Kaplan LLP is pleased to announce that the firm has been selected to receive Minnesota Lawyer’s 2018 Diversity & Inclusion Award. Now in their second year, these annual awards honor the institutions and individuals who have “gone above and beyond in their efforts” to create a more diverse and inclusive legal community. Robins Kaplan is one of just five organizations to win a group award this year.

The firm was recognized in part for its groundbreaking diversity program, the Leaders Engaged in the Advancement of Diversity (LEAD) initiative. Built upon the premise that progress on diversity requires commitment from the very top, this comprehensive program empowers the firm’s leaders to take concrete steps to increase diversity and holds them accountable for their results. The results have been immediate, tangible, and transformative.

Since the LEAD initiative was launched in 2015, the firm has instituted a range of new policies to support working parents, identify and support diverse future leaders, and minimize unconscious bias in the workplace. The initiative also led to the implementation of the “Rooney Rule” for lateral associate candidates, ensuring that diverse candidates are considered for each open position.

“Robins Kaplan has been dedicated to inclusion ever since the firm was founded,” said Chief Talent and Diversity Officer Chandra Kilgriff, “It’s an honor to be a part of that mission and to witness all the benefits that our work has provided to the firm, our clients, and our community.”

The firm will be honored at an awards ceremony on October 3 in Minneapolis. To see the full list of 2018 Diversity & Inclusion Honorees, click here.
