Robins Kaplan was pleased to partner with the University of South Dakota Native American Law Students Association for the 28th Annual National NALSA Moot Court Competition held in Berkeley, California on February 20-21, 2020.
The National Moot Court Competition was started to create an opportunity for NALSA members to develop their oral advocacy and brief-writing skills as well as enhance the substantive knowledge in the fields of federal Indian law, tribal law, and traditional forms of governance. The University of South Dakota Native American Law Students Association hosted the competition ten years ago – in 2010 – with over 55 schools participating that year.
The University of South Dakota Native American Law Students Association has been a forceful organization at the school for over two decades. Since its inception, USD NALSA has provided academic, professional, and social opportunities for USD students, South Dakotans, and the state and national legal community.
The Robins Kaplan’s American Indian Law and Policy Group is led by former United States Attorneys Brendan Johnson and Tim Purdon. The group helped prepare the students for the competition.
