Robins Kaplan LLP is pleased to announce that Tim Purdon has been appointed co-chair of the firm’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee, replacing Kellie Lerner, who is stepping down from that role after six years. Purdon joins Sherry Roberg-Perez, who has been serving as co-chair of the committee since 2019.
“I am pleased to welcome Tim’s leadership and perspective to the committee during this critical time for both our firm and our country,” said Roberg-Perez. “As we reflect on the events of the past few months and reexamine our role in challenging workplace and systematic inequality, we recognize the value of engaging allies from a range of backgrounds to help us expand our perspectives on diversity and inclusion work.”
Purdon is the former United States Attorney for the District of North Dakota. He founded Robins Kaplan LLP’s North Dakota office in 2015 and serves as co-chair of the firm’s American Indian Law and Policy Group and Government and Internal Investigations Group. ”In both my time in public service and in private practice, diversity and inclusion efforts have been extremely important to me. I’m looking forward to working with Sherry and other leaders in our firm to meet the important diversity and inclusion goals we have set for ourselves.”
Purdon has made a career of leading complex criminal investigations and high stakes civil litigation from both the plaintiff and defense counsel’s table. Tim has a twenty-five year record of accomplishment in private practice and in public service as a passionate champion for his clients and as an incisive strategic thinker. Purdon’s work has earned him recognition by Chambers USA as a “Notable Practitioner in Native American Law.” He was also included in this year’s “Best Lawyers in America” list.
