Robins Kaplan LLP is pleased to announce that Ronald Schutz and Tara Sutton have been named to Lawdragon’s “500 Leading Lawyers in America” list.

According to Lawdragon, the list is the leading guide to the nation's best lawyers and judges. It is comprised of private lawyers from a wide range of practices, as well as in-house counsel, law professors, judges and neutrals, government attorneys, and public interest lawyers. Those named to the list represent less than one-half of one percent of the legal profession, placing them among the most elite group of legal professionals.

Ronald Schutz serves as chair of the firm’s Executive Board. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, which is the preeminent organization of trial lawyers in North America. Becoming a Fellow is by invitation only and membership is limited to 1% of the total lawyer population. He has won a nine-figure and multiple eight-figure jury verdicts, and has secured trial victories against behemoths such as Apple, General Electric, Clear Channel, Sony, and Canon. Based on his accomplishments, Schutz has been included in many top lawyer lists, including Lawdragon’s inaugural “500 Leading Litigators in America” list and IAM Patent 1000: The World’s Leading Patent Professionals.

Tara Sutton is chair of the firm’s Mass Tort Group and a member of the Executive Board. She currently serves as co-lead counsel on behalf of the State of Minnesota in its suit against JUUL Labs, and serves as a lead negotiator on behalf of hundreds of Tribal governments in the Opioid multi-district litigation. To date, opioid-related settlements on behalf of tribes have surpassed $1 billion. Sutton has been recognized for her achievements by numerous organizations. She has been listed in the past eight editions of The Best Lawyers in America and repeatedly named a “Lawyer of the Year” by Best Lawyers. This is the eighth consecutive year that she has been included on Lawdragon’s “500 Leading Lawyers in America” list.
