Robins Kaplan LLP is pleased to announce that Rashanda Bruce has been honored with Profiles in Diversity Journal’s Diverse Lawyers Making a Difference Award. This annual award recognizes prominent lawyers who have made significant contributions to diversity, inclusion, and equity within their law firms, communities, and for their clients.
Rashanda, an attorney in the firm’s mass tort and personal injury groups, has a proven track record of securing justice for victims of complex product liability and wrongful death cases. Notably, she was part of the trial team that secured a landmark $7.75 million verdict against CRC Industries in April 2024 for its failure to prevent the misuse of its aerosol duster products. Recently, that total judgment increased to almost $10.5 million after the court granted a post-trial motion for pre- and post-judgment interest and costs.
Rashanda is an active member of several organizations, serving on the Board of Directors for the Hennepin County Bar Association, Prodeo Academy, and the Minnesota Association of Black Lawyers, where she also chairs the Membership Committee. She is also a member of the Outreach Committee for Twin Cities Diversity in Practice, serves as co-treasurer for the Warren E. Burger Inn of Court, and volunteers as a housing court attorney with the non-profit Volunteer Lawyers Network. Beyond her legal work, Rashanda is deeply involved in the local community. She is a co-founder and leadership team member of LOCUS, an organization that fosters community-building and leadership for people of color and Indigenous peoples. Rashanda also coaches competitive cheerleading for girls in grades K-12.
Rashanda’s leadership and impact have earned her multiple recognitions, including being named to Lawdragon 500 X – The Next Generation in 2024 and being listed in The Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch, Super Lawyers’ Minnesota Rising Stars, and Minnesota Lawyer’s Up & Coming Attorneys.
