Matthew Woods has been named a 2015 Client Choice Award winner. Mr. Woods is the state of Minnesota’s exclusive Client Choice Award recipient in the Intellectual Property – Patents category. Award recipients can only be nominated by corporate counsel, and are selected based on their ability to “add real value to clients' business above and beyond the other players in the market”.

Mr. Woods serves as a Partner and also Chair of the firm’s Professional Development Committee. He has developed a robust practice focusing upon the intersection of intellectual property law and antitrust law. As both trial counsel and business counselor, he has directed clients in ways to protect and leverage their patents, trademarks, brands and trade secrets consistent with the guidelines of antitrust law. Mr. Woods also has a solid background in addressing distributor and franchise issues on behalf of clients in the manufacturing and services industries. He is a published author and has presented for organizations such as the Patent Resources Group, the Global Intellectual Property Convention, and the Pro Bono Institute.

The Client Choice Awards were established in 2005 to recognize law firms and partners that stand out based on the quality service and client care they provide. Client Choice partners with the International Law Office and Lexology to facilitate nominees and to publish award results. Lawyers and law firms are rated on numerous client service criteria, including quality of legal advice, value, commercial awareness, communication, billing transparency, fee structures, response time, sharing of expertise and use of technology.
