Robins Kaplan LLP is pleased to announce that Logan Drew has been chosen to lead the firm’s award-winning pro bono program as Pro Bono Chair. In this role, Drew will continue to expand the firm’s efforts to ensure access to justice, both in our communities and around the world.
Robins Kaplan has a long history of service to the community. Since 2008, more than 7 percent of the firm’s billable time has been devoted to pro bono efforts. In 2017 alone, Robins Kaplan attorneys devoted more than 25,000 hours to pro bono cases. This dedication to service has enabled the firm to achieve truly remarkable results.
These results include our representation of the victims of the I-35W Bridge collapse in downtown Minneapolis, our work in securing a voluntary termination of parental rights in a nationally watched parental rights case, and our efforts to implement reforms in the Chicago Police Department.
“Our pro bono work is central to our identity as a firm,” said Drew, “It is an incredible honor to step into this role and lead a program that has done so much good for so many in the community. I look forward to playing my part in continuing this critical work, particularly during a time in which so many are in desperate need of representation.”
Drew takes the reins of the Pro Bono Committee from Patrick Arenz, whose tenure as Pro Bono Chair was marked by several landmark wins on behalf of those in need. Recently, Arenz helped to achieve a $950,000 verdict in favor of a woman, now an American citizen, who became a victim of sex tourism at the age of 14. The verdict is believed to the first of its kind in federal court.
Drew will assume the title of Pro Bono Chair in addition to his work in the firm’s Intellectual Property and Technology Litigation Group, where he represents both plaintiffs and defendants in IP disputes across numerous technical fields, including semiconductor fabrication techniques and process control, integrated circuit design, layout, and power management, graphics processing, mobile device technology, e-commerce, and consumer electronics.
