Addition Marks Continued Expansion of Firm’s National Antitrust and Trade Regulation Group in California
SAN FRANCISCO, CA—June 26, 2017—Robins Kaplan LLP® announced today that Aaron Sheanin has joined the firm’s Antitrust and Trade Regulation group in the firm’s Silicon Valley office.
“Aaron’s extensive experience as an antitrust litigator will further enhance the capabilities of our practice to support our clients’ needs, on both the plaintiffs and defense side,” said Hollis Salzman, co-chair of Robins Kaplan’s Antitrust and Trade Regulation group. “His experience complements the complex litigation matters led by our antitrust group nationwide, and we are very pleased to have him join as the latest member of our growing national practice.”
For nearly two decades, Sheanin has represented businesses, consumers, and investors in matters spanning from large nationwide class actions to individual litigation. Notably, he tried an antitrust class action on behalf of direct purchases of TFT-LCD screens and finished products, which reached a multimillion-dollar verdict before trebling. He also represented a class of student-athletes challenging the NCAA’s rules on capping scholarship compensation packages, as well as classes of direct purchasers who received multimillion-dollar settlements from several major electronics companies over litigation alleging conspiracies to fix prices of lithium-ion batteries, optical disk drive prices, and cathode ray tubes.
“The breadth and depth of Robins Kaplan’s antitrust group have always impressed me, and I have long admired the way the firm levels the playing field for its clients on both sides of the courtroom,” Sheanin said. “I look forward to adding further value by continuing the expansion of the firm’s antitrust group.”
Sheanin is currently an advisor to the executive committee of the California State Bar’s Antitrust, UCL & Privacy Section. He received his J.D. from Columbia Law School in 1999 and his undergraduate degree from University of California, Berkeley in 1993.
Sheanin is the second attorney to recently join Robins Kaplan’s antitrust practice in California; earlier this month, Tai S. Milder, a former trial attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice Antitrust Division, joined the firm in the Silicon Valley office.
