Robins Kaplan is pleased to announce that Liz Fors has been named a 2020 “Up & Coming Attorney” and professional staff members Jennifer Domholt, Jennifer Marrone, and Paul McCaffrey have been recognized as “Unsung Legal Heroes.”

The prestigious “Up & Coming Attorney” award is given to a few select lawyers within their first 10 years of practice based on their excellent and distinguishing performance. According to Minnesota Lawyer, winners are chosen based on professional accomplishment, leadership service to the community and the profession, or achievement as in-house counsel.

An associate in Robins Kaplan’s Personal Injury and Medical Malpractice Group, Liz Fors made headlines in 2017 when she and Partner Chris Messerly achieved a $20.6 million medical malpractice wrongful death verdict on behalf of their client, a mother of two who died of sepsis. It is the largest verdict of its kind in state history. In just five years of practice, Fors has represented clients in four medical malpractice trials and a pro bono trial, and helped to achieve numerous significant settlements on behalf of her clients, including settlements of $700,000 and $1 million in 2019 alone.

Records Specialist Jennifer Domholt, E-Discovery Project Manager Jennifer Marrone, and Senior Trial Consultant Paul McCaffrey were also recognized this week as “Unsung Legal Heroes,” an award reserved for Minnesota’s most talented and dedicated legal support professionals. This award honors law firm employees who have constantly gone above and beyond the call of duty, often behind the scenes.
