Holly Dolejsi and Alyssa Lawson have been named 2017 “Up & Coming Attorneys” while business professionals Tom Bangasser, Sandi Poppen, and Kia Schmeckpeper were recognized as “Unsung Legal Heroes.”
The prestigious “Up & Coming Attorney” award is given to a few select lawyers within their first 10 years of practice based on their excellent and distinguishing performance. According to Minnesota Lawyer, winners are chosen based on professional accomplishment, leadership service to the community and the profession, or achievement as in-house counsel.
Lawson represents large tech companies and Fortune 500 companies in patent infringement cases and other cases involving complex technology while Dolejsi represents individuals and families who have been injured by medical devices and pharmaceuticals. In January 2017, Dolejsi was appointed to the Plaintiff’s Steering Committee for the Invokana multidistrict litigation, which involves claims that Invokana, a drug used to treat Type 2 diabetes, has been linked to diabetic ketoacidosis, a serious condition characterized by high levels of acid in the blood.
Front Desk and Events Coordinator Tom Bangasser, Legal Administrative Assistant Sandi Poppen, and Senior Paralegal Kia Schmeckpeper were also recognized this week as “Unsung Legal Heroes,” an award reserved for Minnesota’s most talented and dedicated legal support professionals. This award honors law firm employees who have constantly gone above and beyond the call of duty, often behind the scenes.
