MINNEAPOLIS (May 15, 2009) - Ronald J. Schutz, Chair of the Intellectual Property Litigation and Licensing Group and a member of the Executive Board of the national law firm of Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi L.L.P., is a recipient of this year's "Distinguished Alumni Awards" from the Minnesota Law Review.

The "Distinguished Alumni Award," is granted each year by the current Board of Editors to one or more alumni who have made extraordinary contributions to the profession and the greater good of society. Mr. Schutz was presented with the award earlier this month at the Law Review Annual Banquet.

Mr. Schutz is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and in 2008, he was named a "Top 10 Winning Attorney," by The National Law Journal.  Mr. Schutz graduated from the University of Minnesota School of Law in 1981.  He is a member of the University of Minnesota Law Review, Alumni Advisory Board.

Mr. Schutz is also extensively involved in other community activities.  He is the Chair of the State Judicial Selection Commission and serves on the Boards of the Guthrie Theater, the YMCA of Greater Minneapolis, and the Center of the American Experiment.
