Robins Kaplan LLP announced today that final settlements have been finally approved by the Court in In re Automotive Parts Antitrust Litigation, the multidistrict litigation stemming from the largest criminal antitrust investigation in U.S. history.
On January 12, 2023, the Court approved End-Payor Plaintiffs’ settlements with the last three Defendant families named in the sprawling Auto Parts Litigation. These settlements, which collectively provide $3,152,000 for the benefit of the End-Payor Plaintiffs settlement classes, mark the conclusion of a litigation spanning more than 12 years in which Robins Kaplan secured more than $1.2 billion for victims of an alleged web of long-running price-fixing, bid-rigging, and market allocation conspiracies throughout the auto parts industry.
The massive civil litigation encompassed more than 40 separate actions against more than 160 defendants, each involving different auto parts, alleged anticompetitive agreements, alleged conspirators, and timelines.
With approval of these final settlements, Robins Kaplan can focus its full attention on the task of distributing the proceeds of the massive recovery to the class.
