Robins Kaplan LLP is pleased to announce that Christopher Larus has been named a finalist for Benchmark Litigation’s Intellectual Property Litigator of the Year Award. Additionally, the firm has been selected as a finalist for Law Firm of the Year in Minnesota.
According to Benchmark Litigation, these annual awards recognize the nation's top litigators and their firms for their exemplary work over the past 12 months.
Christopher Larus is the National Trial Chair at Robins Kaplan, where he leads the firm’s efforts in advancing innovative trial strategies. With over 25 years of experience, Larus specializes in complex intellectual property disputes, including patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret, and licensing matters. He represents both plaintiffs and defendants in courts across the U.S. and in national and international arbitration, helping clients protect and leverage their intellectual property assets. A Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and a Civil Trial Law Specialist certified by the Minnesota State Bar Association, Larus is recognized for his strategic insight and practical approach.
Among his many notable results, Larus recently secured a victory for U.S. Merchants in a trade dress infringement case against National Presto Industries. In November 2024, the Eighth Circuit affirmed the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota’s decision, ruling that National Presto’s product design lacked trade dress protection. This trial victory and appellate affirmance was a significant win for U.S. Merchants, ensuring their continued ability to innovate without the disruption of unfounded legal claims. Larus also recently helped lead the trial team and secured a complete defense verdict for Defendants Erie Custom Computer Applications and Payroll World, Inc. in a significant software licensing dispute involving claims of copyright infringement, trade secret misappropriation, tortious interference with prospective economic advantage, and breach of contract.
The Benchmark Litigation 2025 award winners will be announced at a ceremony in New York City on March 6.
