Robins Kaplan LLP is pleased to announce that Brandon Vaughn has been selected to receive Minnesota Lawyer’s 2021 Diversity & Inclusion Award. This award recognizes organizations and individuals who are significantly advancing diversity, inclusion, and justice for all within Minnesota’s legal community.

Vaughn is a personal injury, medical malpractice, and product liability attorney who provides advocacy for those who have been harmed due to another party’s negligence. A longstanding advocate for equality, Vaughn has taken leadership roles in numerous professional organizations focused on diversity and inclusion, including Twin Cities Diversity in Practice and The Black Biglaw Pipeline. He also serves as President of the Hennepin County Bar Association.

Within Robins Kaplan, Vaughn is the leader of the firm’s Black Firm Member Group, former chair of the firm’s Recruiting/Hiring Committee and former co-chair of the firm’s Diversity Committee.

Vaughn’s accomplishments have been noted by numerous organizations. In 2021, he was shortlisted for Chambers “Diversity and Inclusion Lawyer of the Year Award.” In 2020, he received the National Bar Association Young Lawyers Division’s “Chairman's Award for Leadership Excellence.” He was also included in the Best Lawyers in America® list and awarded the American Association for Justice’s President’s Certificate of Recognition. In addition, Vaughn was named a “Diversity Leader” by Profiles in Diversity Journal and included on Lawyers of Color’s “Nation’s Best” list in 2019.

Vaughn will be honored at an award ceremony on October 7 at the Minneapolis Institute of Art.
