Celgard, LLC v. Targray Technology International Inc., Case No. 5:19-cv-02401-VKD (N.D. Cal.)

Robins Kaplan represented Celgard, LLC in a cross-border patent litigation matter against Targray Technology International. Celgard is a global leader in the development and production of specialty microporous membranes, including separators used in lithium-ion batteries for consumer electronic devices and electric vehicles. Targray competes with Celgard in the battery separator market.

According to the complaint, Targray infringed upon two of Celgard’s patents. The complaint alleged that Targray’s ceramic coated and uncoated lithium-ion battery separators infringed both of these patents.

The complaint, filed in the Northern District of California, sought compensation for Targray’s past and present infringement. The matter settled on confidential terms.
